"Scandal" season 5 will be on air again next month, and aside from new plot twists, fans can't wait to see Olivia Pope, played by Kerry Washington, and her gladiators do their thing to save clients from PR crises.
While waiting for "Scandal" season 5 to grace the airwaves, fans may have been spending time contemplating: how would a real Olivia Pope handle an actual client in today's political arena?
The perfect person to be Olivia Pope's client - Donald Trump, who has been open about his intentions for running to be the next President of the United States.
The businessman-television host has been tangled in various public relations troubles these past few months, causing some to speculate how difficult it probably is for people behind the "Donald Trump for President" campaign to twist circumstances in his favor.
Just after Donald Trump expressed his intentions to run for President, the "Apprentice" host has been bashed for his comments about immigration.
Amid his bid to be President, Donald Trump doesn't seem to be bending his beliefs in exchange for popularity. The billionaire once again stressed his stand that Mexico would be paying for a wall that would seal off the border to the United States.
"We're not paying for it," Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity, as quoted by Bloomberg. "You know how easy that is? They'll probably just give us the money."
Trump's statement caused Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto's camp to react and say that there's no truth to the American businessman's assertions.
This situation could be considered by some as a PR crisis worthy of Olivia Pope's expertise. After all, Olivia has also been the campaign manager for President Fitzegerald Grant, played by Tony Goldwyn, in "Scandal."
When asked about how Olivia Pope would handle Donald Trump at the Television Critics Association's semi-annual press tour, "Scandal" creator Shonda Rhimes and Kerry Washington seems to have agreed on the first thing Olivia should address.
"Do you think she would tell him to do something about the hair?" Shonda Rhimes asked Kerry Washington, as quoted by Entertainment Weekly.
"We have a really good hair department on the show," Washington replied.
Is there any chance of Donald Trump being a guest star on "Scandal" season 5? Anything's possible, but the chances are slim, especially since he's busy with his campaign.
"Scandal" season 5 will premiere on Sept. 24.
