Canadian rapper Drake watched Serena Williams trump Andrea Petkovic at the Rogers Cup Thursday night, which didn't help quell reports that he's wooing coach Patrick Mouratoglou's rumored girlfriend.
Serena Williams remained focused despite the presence of the two rumored loves of her life, and it was an easy 725th win for the world's number one as she never allowed her No. 16-seeded opponent gain momentum, thanks to her powerful serves.
"I think I served better than in my first match. It was a big difference," Williams said during the press conference afterwards.
Coach Patrick Mouratoglou's rumored girlfriend continued, "I still think I have a tremendous amount of improvement to do off the ground and everywhere else, though. I just felt off."
"Just gotta be more positive out there again. I just felt a little negative. So, I'm just going to get back in that positive attitude and go from there."
When Serena Williams faced Roberta Vinci in the quarterfinals, Drake was spotted at the prime seats once again at the sidelines.
"Considering Williams is on the verge of a grand slam if she wins the U.S Open coming up at the end of the month, Drake got some pretty sweet tickets," SB Nation noted.
As well as romance between Drake and Serena Williams goes, it seems rumored boyfriend and coach Patrick Mouratoglou has nothing to fear as the world's number one said they're just friends and playing partners.
SB Nation also pointed out to the Twitter post from WTA Insider where Serena Williams was asked about Drake and she revealed that they played tennis often, and the rapper is quite a good player, as a matter of fact.
"We actually hit several times," she said. "He said he played tennis when he was younger. I thought, really, of all sports. So he's always been kind of been into tennis. So we hit a lot. Not a lot, but we used to hit a lot. Yeah, he's really good. He says he can take me lefty, which gets me charged up."
