Ratings for SBS' "Yong Pal" dropped for the September 2 episode. According to the September 3 report published by Nielsen Korea, ratings for the medical drama dipped to 17 percent. This was a decrease of 3.5 percent from ratings recorded for the August 27 episode.

The ninth episode of "Yong Pal" explored the burgeoning love line of Kim Tae Hyun (Joo Won) and Han Ye Jin (Kim Tae Hee). The rogue physician and heiress bonded at a countryside monastery while the repercussions of the actions of the corrupt hospital staff played out with dramatic flair.

Chief Surgeon Lee (Jung Woong In) is started to learn about the death of Nurse Hwang (Bae Hye Sun). He is equally started to discover the state of the hospital director (Park Pal Young).

As the episode concluded, Tae Hyun assisted a pregnant woman who experienced difficulty with the delivery of her baby. Due to their lack of citizenship, Tae Hyun utilized his experience as a visiting doctor who was willing to do whatever it takes to help those in need. In the end, he was forced to return to Hanshin Medical Center with mother and baby, in tow.

Ratings for MBC's "Scholar Who Walks the Night" increased to 8 percent. In episode 17, Kim Seung Yeol (Lee Joon Gi) confronted Gwi (Lee Soo Hyuk), in an action-packed dual of strong-willed vampires. Seung Yeol was severely injured but bounced back when Jo Yang Sun (Lee Yoo Bi) delivered a kiss that empowered him to defeat his opponent.

The KBS2 series, "Assembly," also increased its ratings. The political series yielded 5.4 percent in nationwide viewership.
