Tom Cruise is allegedly dating Emily Thomas, his 22-year-old assistant who purportedly looks a lot like Katie Holmes.

There have been rumors that the "Mission: Impossible" actor will be proposing to his rumored girlfriend this 2015.

"Tom Cruise is reportedly so head over heels in love with his 22-year-old assistant, Emily Thomas, that he is considering proposing to her," Inquisitr previously reported.

However, there seems to be a problem that could hinder the actor's plan to pop the question this 2015 - apparently, his girlfriend's parents do not approve of him.

"Emily's parents were ecstatic for her when she got the job as Tom's assistant on Mission: Impossible, but they never imagined in a million years thought their daughter would fall for him," an insider reportedly told Dish Nation.

"Emily is obviously close to Tom, since she's his assistant, but there's no telling with a 22-year-old whether or not she'd be honest with them about her love life."

Apparently, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas' disapproval of Tom Cruise may have something to do with his past relationships and how he is as a dad to his ex-wives Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes.

"It's not just Tom's age, although it's a factor for them," the insider added. "He's clearly had a string of unsuccessful relationships and three marriages that ended in divorce. He doesn't see his kids very often. He would thrust their daughter into the often mean spotlight of the public eye.'

Another thing that doesn't impress the parents of Tom Cruise's girlfriend? The actor's religion, Scientology, which has been under a lot of scrutiny this 2015.

"And they won't even begin to get into the Scientology aspect because it's something they view very negatively and do not want their daughter involved in," the insider dished out.

If Tom Cruise will propose to his rumored girlfriend this 2015, then his two marriage proposals will be a decade apart.

In June 2005, Tom Cruise proposed to his then girlfriend of two months, Katie Holmes.

"Yes, I proposed to her," Tom Cruise told the press a few hours after he popped the question, as quoted by MTV.

"It was early this morning at the Eiffel Tower, so I haven't slept at all. Today is a magnificent day for me; I'm engaged to a magnificent woman."

The ex-couple has a nine-year-old daughter together. It has been rumored that Scientology has been one major reason why the couple split. Some speculate that Katie Holmes purportedly didn't want their daughter, Suri, to be raised in accordance to the ways of Scientology.
