James Bond 'Spectre' Theme Song Sung By Sam Smith; New Details About The Film Hinted

Next film in James Bond franchise, "Spectre" is still under production. Now the British singer, Sam Smith has dropped a major hint about the theme song in the next James Bond release.

The 23-years-old British singer posted a mysterious picture on his official Instagram page. In the black-and-white picture, the singer has shown his hand wearing a ring emblazoned with "Spectre" immitating the Octopus logo.

The image, which Sam Smith posted on his social media accounts, did not include any written caption but it was cryptic confirmation that Smith will be singing the theme song for upcoming Bond film, "Spectre."

According to Billboard, in July "Spectre" director, Sam Mender said that the theme song for "Spectre" had already been recorded and it is sounding fantastic. At the same time, the director noted that fans of the James Bond would not have to wait long to find out the face (or faces) behind the new theme song.

According to Daily Mail, four time Grammy Award winner with another five No. 1's under his belt, Sam Smith became the first British male singer to sing a James Bond theme since 1965.

In 2013, "21" singer, Adele won both an Oscar and Golden Globe for the theme song which recorded for the last film in the Bond franchise, "Skyfall." Meanwhile, there were rumors swirling around as to who might have sung the new theme song. In addition to Sam Smith, other possible artists' name also came out like, Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, Lana Del Rey, Noel Gallagher, and Adele.

Over the years, James Bond movies have unleashed some great songs over the years. From Sheena Easton's "For Your Eyes Only," Tina Turner's "Goldeneye," and Madonna's "Die Another Day." It would be interesting to hear what Sam Smith has up his sleeves.

According to Skynews, Ed Sheeran said that his voice is 'too wet' for the James Bond theme song. The singer even said that Sam Smith would be a perfect choice. "He would be perfect suited up with his strong voice," he added.

"Spectre" will open in Australian cinemas on November 6.
