The latest "Castle" season 8 spoilers revealed that Ryan (Seamus Dever) and Esposito (Jon Huertas) will have a new baby in the coming episodes.
New executive producers and co-showrunners Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter, however, revealed that the couple's new bundle of joy will only bring problems to their relationship.
Hawley and Winter pointed out that after Beckett (Stana Katic) got promoted, Ryan felt a little left out and became desperate to bring in more income.
"[The baby's] going to make Ryan even more paranoid and more excited about trying to make more money," Winter told TV Guide.
"When he sees Beckett rising up in the ranks, the boys realize it's time for them to start looking at their futures, which is going to create some tension and conflict between them."
The publication further pointed out that Ryan and Esposito's attitude towards the new baby could only deter Beckett and Castle (Nathan Fillion) from starting a family of their own.
In the coming season, Castle will work closely together with Hayley, according to Christian Post. The publication reported that their closeness could lead to something more and could eventually take a toll on Castle and Beckett's marriage.
Revealing more "Castle" season 8 spoilers, Hawley assured fans that the coming episodes will still focus on Beckett and Castle's relationship. He added that newcomer Hayley (Toks Olagundoye) will not be a threat to their marriage.
"That was never our intention," Hawley said.
"It's always been about the Castle-Beckett love story. That's steeped in the DNA of the show, and that's what it will always be."
Winter also explained that experiencing new challenges together will only make Castle and Beckett's relationship stronger.
"Now, it's about exploring the next evolution of it," he said.
"How do we deepen that love story? What challenges can we put their way that can put their romance at a much higher, different place?"
