It only took one episode of "She Was Pretty" to realize it's an entertaining romantic comedy with a very promising premise. Here are five reasons viewers might like this drama starring Hwang Jung Eum, Park Seo Joon and Choi Siwon. Be warned, there are some spoilers ahead.

1. The set-up gives Hwang Jung Eum plenty of opportunities to be very funny. The last two dramas Hwang appeared in were the melodrama "Secrets" and the drama "Kill Me Heal Me," both with co-star Ji Sung. In "Secrets" Hwang played a woman who was wronged but strong. She did get to play a funnier character in "Kill Me, Heal Me," but she exhibits extra aegyo in "She Was Pretty." Because she plays a woman who is self-conscious about her looks, she gets to use physical gestures for full effect. She jumps, she trips, she hugs. And her character is pretty lovable. She's a good friend, a hard worker, and an optimist. Through a stroke of good luck she lands a job in a fashion magazine, a place where she is out of her element but might belong.

2. By the end of the first episode her character has plenty of chemistry with the male lead played by Park Seo Joon and they haven't even officially re-met yet. They are both so good at playing the characters that were meant for each other, they seem like two magnets waiting to connect. Viewers know they look good together because they played an affectionate brother and sister in "Kill Me Heal Me," but this is a whole new way for them to meet.

3. Hwang's character Kim Hye Jin lands in a great office environment and this means she has plenty of fun co-workers. There's bad boy Kim Shin Hyuk, played by Choi Si Won, Kim Joon Woo, played by Park Yoo Hwan, and Kim Poon Ho, played by character actor An Se Ha. An was Park Shin Hye's manager in "You're Beautiful."

4. Go Joon Hee is truly adorable as the girl everyone wants. She's easy to forgive for being so perfectly beautiful because she is also so nice to her friend, played by Hwang Jung Eum.

5. Like a few other dramas "She Was Pretty" examines what it means to be "pretty" inside and out. Although Hwang Jung Eum does not look her best in the first episode of this drama, viewers can recognize her inner beauty. She does not judge others by the way they look but she's intimidated by her former friend's new beauty.

The comedy promises to be fun. Did you see the first episode? What did you think?
