The film world is rolling out the red carpet for 2PM singer and actor Hwang Chansung. That's because he has been cast in a romantic comedy with the working title, "Red Carpet."

The film follows a romance between a former adult movie director Jung Woo, played by Yoon Kye Sang, and a former child actress Eun Soo, played by Go Joon Hee. Despite his disreputable background in erotic films, the director dreams of making it big with a serious film. That means making some changes in his professional life. After he meets the lovely Eun Soo, he realizes he must also make some changes in his personal life.

Actor Yoon Kye Sang should be able to give Chansung some useful career advice, as he is a former boy band member who has since made a successful transition to acting. After leaving the band g.o.d. Yoon appeared in several dramas and films, including the dramas "High Kick: The Revenge of the Three Legged" and "The Greatest Love," and the films "Poongsan" and "Flying Boys."

His co-star Go Joon Hee is known for playing Eun Jae in the film "Architecture 101," and she has also starred in the dramas, "Yawang," "The Chaser" and "Can You Hear My Heart?" On her acting agenda this summer is another film, "Marriage Blue" with Chansung's fellow 2PM member Taecyeon.

Oh Jung Se, who appeared in the drama "Missing You," will play the director's clumsy assistant. Cho Dal Hwan, who appears in "Heaven's Order" and appeared in "Queen Inhyun's Man," will play another member of the director's crew. Chansung has been cast as Dae Yun, the brightest and youngest member of the film crew.

Although it is his first film role, Chansung, who is also the youngest member of 2 PM, has appeared in two dramas, "Unstoppable High Kick" and "Level 7 Civil Servant." In "Unstoppable High Kick," he played the supporting role of Hwang Chan Sung, a high school troublemaker turned loyal friend. In "Level 7 Civil Servant," he played the second lead, Gong Do Ha, a rookie National Intelligence Service agent with confused and conflicting loyalties.

Park Bum Soo will direct "Red Carpet." Filming begins next month and the film is expected to be in theaters by the end of the year.
