Katherine Heigl has yet to make a successful comeback after the cancellation of her NBC show, "State of Affairs," which only ran for one season.

There are speculations about the possibility of the actress reprising a movie role that she has already played a couple of years ago.

Will the former "Grey's Anatomy" actress' next project be a movie adaptation of the second of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum Series books, titled "Two For The Dough?"

Katherine Heigl starred as bounty hunter Stephanie Plum in the 2011 movie "One For The Money," which is the film adaptation of the first of Janet Evanovich's book series, starring alongside Jason O'Mara who played hot cop Joe Morelli, and Daniel Sunjata who played sexy bounty hunter Ranger.

Now that there are rumors that Katherine Heigl has a new project underway, some wonder: could she be playing the role of Stephanie Plum once again?

It may be highly unlikely. Despite the success of Janet Evanovich book series about the "bounty hunter from hell," the movie adaptation reportedly did not do so well in the box office in 2011.

Though Janet Evanovich's book series already has a fan base, there are fans who have been disappointed over Katherine Heigl's portrayal of Stephanie Plum in the movie, and following it up with a sequel might be commercial suicide.

Even film critiques weren't impressed.

"Starring a painfully awkward Katherine Heigl, One for the Money mostly resembles a failed television pilot, a feeling which is only reinforced by its late-January release and failure to be screened for critics," The Hollywood Reporter wrote back when the movie was first released.

So, what is Katherine Heigl up to these days?

According to Daily Mail, the former "Grey's Anatomy" actress will be starring I a new CBS drama along with Laverne Cox.

"The Doubt pilot is a rework of a pilot shot last year by Phelan and Rater that wasn't picked up by the networks," the report said.

"Heigl is replacing Private Practice and Secrets And Lies actress KaDee Strickland in the lead role of Sadie Ellis, who, according to Variety, is 'a smart, chic and successful defense lawyer at a boutique firm who gets romantically involved with one of her clients who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime.'"
