The love interests of "Gotham" are for real! They play on screen love interests in the dark comic book inspired drama. And now it seems Benjamin McKenzie and Morena Baccarin's chemistry translated into their real lives too, Daily Mail reported.
The pair are dating according to People, and were seen at a number of events together over the Emmy's weekend.
The pair were spotted holding hands at the Fox party at Vibiana after the award ceremony on Sunday, daily Mail added. They first started working together on Gotham in late 2014 - Benjamin, 37, plays Police Comissioner James Gordon on the show. Meanwhile Morena, 36, who was nominated for an Emmy for her role as Jessica Brody in Homeland, was introduced at the end of the first season as Dr. Leslie Thompkins.
The Brazillian born actress was married to Austin Chick, an American producer and director previously, Daily Mail noted. The couple wed in 2011 and had one son, Julius, in October 2013. However they split in 2015 after Chick filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences.
Benjamin is very private about his love life. He told Elle: 'I'm really shy about that stuff. I really don't like relationships to be played out in public. It creates terrible strain. It creates bizarre dynamics. There's that saying, "Less said about the bedroom, the better."'
He likes to be a gentleman when it comes to dating, Daily Mail reported. He revealed one of the best things about getting a regular acting gig was being able to take a woman out: "Honestly, it was great to be able to take a girl out to a nice meal. I like the idea of old-fashioned dating, which at this point is almost heretical. People are genuinely surprised when you ask them out."
Gotham, which is a prequel to Batman chronicles the life of Police Commissioner James Gordon, will debut it's second season on Monday, September 21st, Daily Mail added.
