"D-Day" is a drama about a natural disaster in Seoul and the actions of the emergency medical team that try to help the victims. Dramas about natural disasters are rare. But so far the drama may have attracted more attention because two of its cast members were falsely reported to be dating.
Actor Ha Suk Jin has been trying to clear up rumors that he is dating his "D-Day" co-star Yoon Jee Hee. He said that one of his quotes about her was taken out of context and led to misunderstanding by a media outlet. It was a comment that started out by talking about how beautiful she was.
"After the drama was broadcast, many people around me became interested in Yoo Joo Hee's beauty," sai Ha Suk Jin. "One individual asked, "Are you going to be a couple with her on 'D-Day?"
One reporter heard his response and assumed they were going to be a real-life couple. Not so, said Ha Suk Jin. That was not what he meant. He never said they were dating.
A representative from his agency, Core Contents Media, also weighed in on the situation.
"Reports stating that he acknowledged dating Yoon Joo Hee have absolutely no truth to them. This arose because a news outlet misheard what he said. Ha Suk Jin is in a sticky situation because of the scandal, but he is currently giving his all filming for the drama."
In October of 2014 the actor appeared on the MBC TV show "I Live Alone." At the time he said he was not dating anyone and he had not dated anyone for the past four years.
"I feel more comfortable alone than when I am with a girlfriend," said Ha. "I have almost forgotten what it feels like to be sad because of a woman."
Ha Suk Jin recently appeared in the dramas "Shark," "Legendary Witches" and "Childless Comfort." He plays a doctor in "D-Day."
Yoon Joo Hee's agency, Pi Entertainment, also denied the dating rumors. The model-turned-actress appeared in the dramas "Wonderful Mama" and "One Warm Word."
"D-Day," which began airing on September 18, also stars Kim Yong Kwang, Jung So Min and Kim Ki Moo.
