Actor Shin Hyun Joon and his wife are expecting their first child in the spring. His agency, HJ Artists, officially announced the good news.

"After two years of marriage, Shin Hyun Joon has news about his next generation,"

The agency also shared Shin's emotional reaction to his wife's ultrasound.

Shin got teary at the hospital when he saw the ultrasound of the baby moving. He really wants to thank everyone who congratulated him."

His wife, Kim Kyung Mi is 11 weeks pregnant.

On September 25 Shin shared his excitement on Instagram. In the picture he posted the actor was wearing a t-shirt with "dad" written on it. He was holding a giant teddy bear.

The caption, written in Korean and English, said, ""I'm gonna be a dad!! We are expecting a baby. It feels amazing. I promise to be a great dad and always be grateful for everything. Love you all."

The couple was married in 2013. Shin's wife is 12 years his junior. At the time of his engagement announcement she was studying for her doctorate in music in the U.S. Shin said that he fell in love at first sight when he bumped into her in the doorway of a building.

"We passed by each other and we both looked back," said the actor. "I felt like I had always known her. I continued walking for a while but then thought I should not miss the opportunity to meet her. So, I turned back to give her my name card, and she asked for an autograph. That's how our relationship started."

Shin, 46, has appeared in dozens of films and a dozen dramas, most recently playing roles in "Bridal Mask" and "Ohlala Couple." He hosts the KBS entertainment news program, "Entertainment Relay" and the Channel A talk show "Show King." He has written two children's books, a book about his faith journey as a devout Christian, and he is an acting professor at Induk University.

And if that were not enough to keep him busy, he also established the production company HJ Film and is the CEO of 3J Cosmetics.
