Lee Min Ho may be so popular that there's nothing left for his fans to learn about him.
But just in case you are new to Lee Min Ho fandom, here are a few fun facts we like about the star of such dramas as "Boys Over Flowers," "City Hunter" and "The Heirs," and the film "Gangnam Blues."
1. He received over 530,000 questions during a one-hour SNS interview. The Chinese media publication Sina reported that it was the highest number of questions any celebrity ever received on Weibo.
2. His role model is his mom. In an interview with the Korean media publication "Star Diary," he spoke about her.
"Back when I was going through tough times and kept getting rejected at auditions, I was able to keep working hard and not fall into despair because of my mother. She always taught me to keep trying."
3. Spending many months in the hospital changed his views on life but ultimately only made him more determined to succeed at acting. He wound up in the hospital because when he was 20, he was involved in a car accident with longtime friend and fellow actor Jung Il Woo.
" For many people, the age of 20 is when they first reach adulthood and it's a time full of ideals and dreams," he said in an interview with the Chinese media publication Sina. "But when I was 20, a lot of misfortune came along. I spent a year in the hospital and couldn't move, and I was forced to think a lot. The perception I formed at that time became the sustaining foundation for me to continue to quietly persist and never be self-satisfied."
4. He says he would give up everything for love. He is currently dating miss A singer and actress Suzy Bae. It is not known if his parents approve of Suzy, but in an interview with the Korean media outlet ISPlus, he was asked what he would do if his parents disapproved of his girlfriend. That's what happened to his character Gu Jun Pyo in "Boys Over Flowers."
"I would run away with her," he said. "Even if we had to elope, I would marry her."
5. When he became an actor he wanted to be called simply Lee Min. That's what he said in an interview with the Korean media outlet Star Diary.
"The major reason I chose that name is because Jung Woo Sung's character in the film 'Beat' was named Lee Min," he said. "It looked cool. But when I looked up 'Lee Min' on the Internet, the only search word that would come up was 'overseas immigration.'"
The word in Korean is pronounced the same as Lee Min.
"So I thought I shouldn't use that name."
He changed it back to Lee Min Ho.
