Ever since their divorce, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have already moved on to their respective lives, but they remain good friends.
"It was a hug and kiss goodbye that made it clear Gwyneth Paltrow and her 'wasband' Chris Martin are still as close as they were before they 'consciously uncoupled,'" said Daily Mail.
"The pair, who have two children together, were pictured celebrating the Hollywood actress' 43rd birthday and showed their affection for one another has not subsided despite officially divorcing earlier this year," it added.
"Wasband" is a term coined by relationship expert Katherine Woodward Thomas who thought that was a kinder term for a former husband who is still very much involved in the lives of the mother and their kids.
Apparently, the inspiration was the "conscious uncoupling" statement of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin following their split last year.
Gwyneth Paltrow previously said that it was a conscious decision to be in each other's lives for the sake of their kids.
"It's been hard, and we've gone through really difficult times, but we've always said these children are our priority," she said. "What that really means is even though today you hate me and you never want to see me again, we're going to brunch because it's Sunday and that's what we're going to do."
Although the "Iron Man" actress has moved on to date Brad Falchuk, the producer of "Scream Queens," she's still very playful towards Chris Martin.
In fact, she refers to the Coldplay frontman as her "baby daddy."
In an Instagram post four days ago, Gwyneth Paltrow watched her former husband perform with Ed Sheeran and she shared a photo of the stage from where she was sitting. She captioned the image, "Baby daddy in a sweet duet with the immensely talented #edsheeran #yellow."
"Gwyneth," one fan commented. "Who taught you that term baby daddy...u have gotten hardened lately from having to keep it real...what was the point of ur mom sending you to that fancy private school on the upper east side if you are going to turn 'gangsta.'"
