Rihanna has had a reason for getting back with Chris Brown after being assaulted by him back in 2009.
Rihanna told in a candid interview with Vanity Fair about her ex-boyfriend Brown that she felt she could change him. The 27-year-old singer was brutally attacked by Brown who was her boyfriend then, in his Lamborghini on the night before Grammys award in 2009. Photos of the songstress' bruised and swollen face were also leaked online, according to Mail Online.
Rihanna said that though she was constantly linked with one guy or another Brown is her "last real boyfriend." She also felt bad and blamed herself for getting back with the rapper yet again in 2012. She requested the judge to lift the restraining order enacted by the court in 2013.
"Maybe I'm one of those people built to handle s--t like this. Maybe I'm the person who's almost the guardian angel to this person, to be there when they're not strong enough, when they're not understanding the world, when they just need someone to encourage them in a positive way and say the right thing," Rihanna told the magazine, reported TMZ.
The "Diamonds" performer explained that she remained a constant reminder of his actions and their consequences in his life. She also understood that her interest about being with Chris won't regain her respect from him. She finally realized "Sometimes you just have to walk away," than stay in a bad place.
The songstress who said that she is not interested in dating anybody explained her rationale for not getting involved in a relationship. "I've had to be so conscious about people-what they say and why people want to be with me, why people want to sleep with me," said Rihanna. "It makes me very guarded and protective. I learned the hard way."
