Google has released current statistics on Android. About 21% of all the Android devices are running in the 'Lollipop' operating system. Sources also reveal that the largest share of this Android OS goes to Kit Kat (39%) and Jelly Bean (32%). In May 2015, the statistics showed a lower rating with only 9% of users are running the Lollipop OS said Engadget.com
This data is published when Google is set to launch the newest Android version named "Marshmallow." But, the released statistics proclaim that there will be some fragmentation in the Android market. This new version can be expected in the markets by end of this month. When compared to the other sister versions, Lollipop holds the biggest share in the market said Uncovermichigan.com
Nexus 9, Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge come with Android Lollipop OS and Android figures reveal that the devices that are running the latest Google Play Store app are compatible with Android 2.2 and higher. But, the older devices without Google Play are not taken count in the survey said Engadget.com.
The data obtained also signify that the espousal of Lollipop version is lower than only the Android Kit Kat and Jelly Bean. Google's figures reveal that Ice Cream Sandwich can still be found on 3.4 percent of devices, Gingerbread on 3.8 percent and Froyo on 0.2 percent, revealed The Inquirer.
The news also focused on some exciting information on the yet-to-be-launched Marshmallow. Sundar Pichai, Google's CEO, stated that Marshmallow's main emphasis coins to 'Polish and Quality,' said Engadget.com
Some exciting information revealed was that the Lollipop version owns a frozen upright app screen. This OS is something extraordinary to use and thus the statistics reveal 21% of all the Android versions and one in five users own this OS said The News Daily Australia.
