Shia LaBeouf was arrested in Austin, Texas on Friday night for misbehaving towards the police and public intoxication. Police arrest the 29-years-old American actor at Sixth Street, which is a famous entertainment district in downtown Austin.
"Due to pending adjudication, no further details will be released at this time," the APD said in a statement. According to TMZ, a witness said that the actor was blitzed, high on drugs and disobeyed the police. Shia ran down the street and jaywalked in front of the cops. The police warned him not to misbehave in public but the actor acted bizarrely.
Shia LaBeouf was taken to the Travis County Jail and booked under misdemeanor and public intoxication. The incident happened around 7:45PM CT outside a bar on 6th Street.
This would not be the first time when Shia LaBeouf has gone into police custody. In early 2005, he was arrested by LA police and charged with assault with a deadly weapon after the actor threatened his neighbour by driving into his car.
According to Washington Post, LaBeouf was arrested for misdemeanour criminal trespassing as Chicago Walgreensin November 2007. However, the criminal charges were dropped on December 12, 2007. In March 2008, the California court issued an arrest warrant after he failed to make a court appearance.
On July 27, 2008, LaBeouf was involved in a car crash at the intersection of La Brea Avenue and Fountain Avenue in Los Angeles. After responding to the accident, the patrolling police smelled alcohol on LaBeouf's breath. In early 2011, Shia was involved in an altercation with another patron at the Mad Bull's Tavern bar in Los Angeles, which resulted in actor getting punched in the face. The actor was then handcuffs and questioned by a Los Angeles Police Department.
Shia LaBeaouf is currently shooting for Andrea Arnold's drama road movie, "American Honey."
