The Secret Behind The Android 6.0 Marshmallow Wallpapers; Google Offers Red And Blue Versions

Those who are new to Android and see the latest version 6.0 Marshmallow may find its new wallpapers appealing. However, there is one thing about them that no one would never guess.

The wallpapers from among the world's biggest tech firms were created using...paper.

Android Police cited photographer Carl Kleiner as the person behind the Android 6.0 Marshmallow "material" wallpapers, and so with Android 5.0 Lollipop launched last year, as well as the latest versions of Chrome and Google on iOS app. Android Central commented that Google has undoubtedly put extra attention when creating its great looking Material Design-inspired wallpapers.

At first glance, they look as if they were created digitally, which was not the case. Kleiner created a physical art made of different paper types before it is photographed, and made way to Android devices.

No less than the Internet search titan itself disclosed on its Design Blog, the behind-the-scenes images of how they were able to come up with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow wallpapers using paper, powder, ink and paint; and the meticulous process commissioned designer Kleiner had gone through in putting the abstract pieces together. That is not all there is, 9toGoogle said it has something to it that is quite charming.

As Kleiner described the Android 6.0 Marshmallow wallpapers, "We wanted to work with surfaces that have a subtle and sophisticated texture, organic to the touch and graphic in composition... Painted surfaces, color pigment powders, floating ink and the like."

The color palette is restricted to the main brand colors - blue, red, yellow and green, plus shades of grey. The blog post looks interesting on how the wallpapers were created. To make it more worth checking out, Google offers two downloadable "exclusive" red and blue wallpapers.

Introduced in May during the company's I/O Conference, Google's newest mobile operating system version which brings along with it features and enhancements, was released on Oct. 5.
