"I Am Cait" has been renewed for season 2 even though its first run rated low. The news was reported by E! Online, and some wonder if Caitlyn Jenner's highly anticipated speaking tour will be featured to entice viewers.

The docuseries premiered on E! network last summer and followed the transition of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" patriarch Bruce Jenner into a woman named Caitlyn Jenner. The show documented his own personal adjustments and struggles, as well as the reactions of his family and close friends.

The former Olympian turned transgender reality star talked about his excitement over "I Am Cait" season 2. "I'm looking forward to continuing the conversation," Caitlyn Jenner said.

E! network explained why they decided to give the reality show another run.

"Caitlyn's story has ignited a global conversation on the transgender community on a scale that has never been seen before," said Jeff Olde, EVP of Programming and Development at E!.

"We are honored Caitlyn has chosen to continue to share her ongoing story with our viewers around the world."

Some also wonder if "I Am Cait" season 2 will feature Caitlyn Jenner's much awaited multiple-city speaking tour.

According to a report from People, the 65-year-old will have a talk entitled "Up Close and Personal."

The speaking engagement will be part of the "Unique Lives & Experiences."

People behind "I Am Cait" could only hope that Caitlyn Jenner's tour and other activities to be documented can boost ratings for the show's sophomore season.

Reuters previously reported how the groundbreaking reality show debuted earlier this year with just 2.7 million viewers.

The number of viewers for "I Am Cait's" premiere was far from the reported 17 million people who watched his coming out interview with ABC anchor Diane Sawyer.

The show's succeeding episodes rated even lower than its debut.

Per Entertainment Weekly, "I Am Cait" viewers went down to half of the number who watched the premiere. The second episode itself gathered only 1.3 million viewers, which is reportedly lower that any "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" episode.
