Now that the legal issues surrounding Tool have been treshed out, the band can work on the new album save for one possible roadblock-Maynard James Keenan is working with Puscifer.
In fact, the Arizona-based rock band will release its latest album called "Money Shot" on Oct. 30 under its own label.
"As is the Modus Operandi of PUSCIFER, there will be a whole new show to accompany the 'Money Shot' release," the Tool frontman told Blabbermouth. "We've been leaving a few clues here and there as to what it may entail."
"As usual, we prefer to show rather than tell. Odds are if you've been a fan of the diverse nature of our performances in the past, you'll want to go ahead and place those bets," he said.
If that's not enough to impact on Tool's new album, Puscifer will gon on a six-week tour which will kick off on Nov. 1 at the Monster Mash in Phoenix, Arizona.
Tool has been embroiled in a lawsuit filed by their insurers. The issue lasted eight years until a judge forced a trial that ultimately led to a settlement in favor of the band.
Adam Jones, the guitarist for the band, said that Tool is working on its new album and already completed one track, in the hope of releasing the follow up to "10,000 Days" back in 2006 by the end of the year.
He said the album will contain 10 more songs which he told the Rolling Stone are in "various states of completion."
Adam Jones told Rolling Stone that the lawsuit really stunted the band, aside from the millions of dollars in legal fees.
"But the point is, we're fighting the good fight," he said. "We're going to trial and we want to crush them. But every time we've gotten close to going to trial, it gets postponed and we've wasted money and time and it has just drained our creative energy."
