Nina Dobrev and boyfriend Austin Stowell have confirmed their relationship after the "Whiplash" actor called her his "girlfriend" on Twitter. On that occasion, the couple somehow realized that they were not following each other in the social media site.
In a report by E! Online, the "Whiplash" actor posted a screenshot of Nina Dobrev's Twitter page as he realized that he was not following "The Vampire Diaries" star.
"That awkward moment when you realize you don't follow your girlfriend on Twitter #socialmediaproblems @ninadobrev," he said.
But 27-year-old Bulgarian-Canadian actress Nina Dobrev also revealed that she was not following the actor either, MTV.com said.
"That awkward moment when u realize ur not following him either & gotta do it realfast b4 he realizes," the actress said.
It was only after that that Nina Dobrev and Austin Stowell started following each other on Twitter.
Nina Dobrev and Austin Stowell have been in a relationship for the past four months.
The two had their first red carpet appearance as a couple at the recently held premiere night of "Bridge of Spies" at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center as part of the 53rd New York Film Festival.
According to reports, Nina Dobrev and boyfriend Austin Stowell first hit it off in a comedy bar where they were caught kissing. After two months, the then rumored couple where spotted in Eli Mizrahi's Founding Member dinner launch party where they were said to have displayed major PDA.
Before Nina Dobrev dated the "Whiplash" actor, she has been in a three-year relationship with her "The Vampire Diaries" co-star Ian Somerhalder.
"The Anomaly" actor is now married to "Twilight" Nikki Reed after dating for eight months.
Rumors have it that Nina Dobrev decided to quit the hit vampire show because she still has not moved on from her split with the actor.
