Microsoft Corporation's Cortana, the Windows 10 digital assistant, is jumping on the "Halo 5: Guardians" bandwagon by adding the user's Xbox Live account as another source of information and promotes Microsoft's most recent game.
PCWorld confirmed that once the connection to Xbox Live has been established, Cortana will show a clock counting down to the launch of the new game, with a "Learn More" button.
To make the connection, one can go to Cortana, Notebook, Connected Accounts like Office365 or LinkedIn and Uber for Insiders. Users then can log into their accounts in Xbox Live to connect Cortana and Xbox Live.
Once completed, Cortana helps the user stay updated, get insights about the user's gaming activity, schedule game sessions per user request, be informed of a friend's availability to play and get relevant content, offers and updates opportunities.
To connect Microsoft Corporation's Cortana to Xbox Live is simple. One does not need to be part of the Preview or any beta program, just a Windows 10 user. Cortana is already a hidden feature on the Xbox One Experience where she works just as she does on Windows 10 - give reminders, show interests and does voice search.
While some Windows 10 users can take this lightly, not the hardcore gamers. They can see activities when their friends finished working, forming parties, celebrate and achievement or are uploading clips. PCWorld said it will be interesting to see Cortana with the full integration of Xbox and Windows 10.
According to TechTimes, Larry Hryb aka Major Nelson, Xbox director of programming said: "For those who have asked about Cortana, our plan is to add Cortana to the Xbox One experience preview later this year. From there, we'll ensure that the experience is tuned for gamers before we officially launch Cortana in 2016."
Microsoft Corporation's Xbox One will still have to see Windows 10 later next month and the latest developments with Cortana on Xbox Live is one of its promising stages, said Windows Central. The website sees the digital assistant as the go-to hub for all the services and products of Microsoft.
