Google's SVP for Ads and Commerce Sridhar Ramaswarmy said Android Pay will support loyalty reward programs. Speaking to the Money conference Money20/20 in Las Vegas, he gave updates of their newly implemented mobile payment service, said 9to5Google.
According to Ramaswamy, Google's six-weeks old Android Pay has already "millions" of Android users linking their card information to the service. More than 60 percent did not use Google Wallet before, said Re/code.
Re/code reckoned that Apple added a million credit cards to its mobile payments after 72 hours last year.
As for the loyalty rewards program, they will start with Coke so that when a user buys soda with Goggle's Android Pay in an NFC-enabled vending machine, they will receive reward points that will allow them to buy more sodas.
According to Google, marketers are excited about the enhancements, as it will be easy for them to track data.
To continue the growth of the mobile data service, Google will increase its marketing efforts and will partner with the major carriers AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless to have their sales rep trained to pitch the service; and so with American Express, Visa, Mastercard and card-issuing banks.
Holiday shopping is already on its way and Google's Ramaswamy also sat with Fortune to talk about mobile shopping and Android Pay.
Ramaswamy said the retail industry is seeing the biggest shift to mobile shopping, as shopping marathons are replaced by shopping moments.
While it is easy to buy online using Android Pay, autofill and buy buttons also help make things easier for online shoppers.
"We are seeing that 12 percent of all Chrome users on Android are already using autofill, [a feature on Google Chrome browsers that stores credit card and billing information, and will automatically fill this out into fields on commerce and retail sites asking for credit card information]." Google's commerce guru said.
