The former "One Direction" singer is allegedly recording new tracks in a forest staying in a tent with basic music recording facilities. Yes, Zayn Malik's new album is in the making.

Malik, the former "One Direction" singer quit the boys' band to prove his music skills to the world. The Bradford-born singer has travelled to a forest which is an hour and a half drive away from Los Angeles. While he is looking for a permanent house there he is enjoying his time in harmony with nature in a tent equipped with a generator that would help him record tracks with basic music recording equipment, reported Sun.

"The set-up may be basic but it sounds like a mix between "The Weeknd" and "Frank Ocean,"" noted a source in the know of Malik's whereabouts. "He's really excited about releasing it and has said how he can't wait to take on his former bandmates in the charts," noted the source, according to Mirror.

Zayn Malik New Album Will Showcase The Musician In Him

"His biggest qualm in One Direction was always the fact that no one took his music seriously, so he wants to prove that he's more than just a former boy band singer," added the source. The source also noted that Malik is planning to live in America, visit several major cities in the country, play one song in each of the cities and showcase his music skills.

Malik who was the centrefold of rumors lately after calling off his engagement with Perrie Edwards seems to be focussing in music leaving his personal life behind. The duo started dating after their first meeting on "The X Factor" set in December, 2011. After being in love for couple of years, the stars got engaged in 2013.

Malik and Edwards were planning to get married at Disneyland Paris in June but Malik called off his relationship with Edwards in July. Edwards who is not happy about Malik ending their four-year-long relationship with a simple text message, labeled him a "bell end" in a radio interview recently.
