Brad Pitt debunked rumors that he and Angelina Jolie are heading for divorce as he talked about being directed by his wife in their first movie as a married couple. The "Fury" actor even said that he trusts the "Maleficent" star with his life.

The 51-year-old actir recently gushed about his wife Angelina Jolie in an interview with V magazine which touched on the topic about her being the director of their new movie "By the Sea" and how it is different from "Mr. & Mrs. Smith."

"She's decisive, incredibly intuitive, knife-sharp and, might I say, sexy at her post," the actor said about his co-star and wife who is also the writer and producer. "It's surprising how much I enjoy the direction of my wife."

The actor also stressed that he trusts his wife, ABC News said in a report.

"I trust her with my life...If I'm going to work, I want to work with my wife."

Previous reports told that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had a hard time filming the "By the Sea" as they always undergo a heated argument about scene.

Angelina Jolie was allegedly controlling not only in the way he acts but with their relationship as a whole, making Brad Pitt "tired."

It was even rumored that the two are announcing their divorce later this year after the movie is released in November.

"By the Sea" is their first movie together as a husband and wife following their first onscreen partnership in "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" last 2005.

The movie, which is set in France in 1970s, revolves around a couple named Roland and Vanessa, who are having marital issues and decided to live in a place near the sea, AOL.com said.

"Mr. and Mrs. Smith this is not," Brad Pitt clarified. "'By the Sea' deals with that period when the honeymoon is well over and the couple is faced with the banality of every day and the pains of the unplanned."

He added, "There are no Hallmark cards that define the next chapter, or the value of a history together."
