Henry Cavill has shed off his Man of Steel persona as the "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" went bald for his role in "Sand Castle."
The 32-year-old actor posted on Instagram the time when the barber shaved off his head for his new movie. He wrote, "#SandCastle's start date, wrap date, & @HenryCavill's transformation into Captain Syverson as we keep you updated on his latest project (link in bio) https://t.co/GTX2kKIQWn #SetLife #Jordan #US #SpecialForces #Military #Superman #ManofSteel #BatmanvSuperman #JusticeLeague #ManfromUNCLE #BeSafe #HenryCavill."
"The Jersey native Henry wears a smug grin as he sees his beloved locks shorn from his head, perhaps gleeful that he will not be looking like his most famous character for a while," Daily Mail said.
Daily Mail also noted that Henry Cavill's connection to the military since his brother served in the Royal Marines. The "Batman V Superman" star is also heavily involved in the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund.
In the "Sand Castle" movie, the "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" actor will be joining "X-Men: Apocalypse" star Nicholas Hoult and "Hobbit" actor Luke Evans.
"The plot centers on Matt Ocre (Hoult), who is part of a mission to repair a broken water system in the dangerous and unstable Iraqi village of Baqubah," said Deadline.
"While the people of Baghdad welcome the Americans as saviors, the villagers resist their presence and Matt and his unit must try to convince the community that they are part of the solution, not the problem, in order to save the town and get out alive. Evans is playing the sergeant in charge of Ocre's unit and Cavill is the special forces captain running the operation in Baqubah," it added.
With Henry Cavill shaving his head, it means that production for "Man of Steel 2" might not start until the next few weeks.
"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" is set to be released on March 25, 2016.
