"Fast & Furious" actor Paul Walker joined the list of celebrities who still earned big money even after their death.
Forbes Dead Celebrity List 2015 ranked Paul Walker at ninth.
"Walker's untimely death and Furious 7's celluloid tribute to him propelled the movie to $1.5 billion at the box office, making it the franchise's biggest intake to date," it said. "He may have died while the movie was filming, but his estate is still thought to have profited from a slice of the movie's backend."
To come up with the Forbes 2015 Dead Celebrity List, the magazine combed through all the pre-tax earnings of the celebrities from Oct. 1, 2014 to Oct. 1, 2015. The documents include "record sales, music publishing, film residuals, licensing and other ventures."
Paul Walker's name has been in the news lately as the "Fast & Furious" star's daughter, Meadow Rain, filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche.
Lawyer Jeff Milam said in a statement, "The bottom line is that the Porsche Carrera GT is a dangerous car. It doesn't belong on the street and we shouldn't be without Paul Walker or his friend, Roger Rodas."
The lawsuit filed by Paul Walker's daughter against Porsche alleged that the luxury car company knew that the Carrera GT "had a history of instability and control issues," and it also failed to "install its electronic stability control system," which is designed specifically "to protect against the swerving actions inherent in hyper-sensitive vehicles of this type."
The 2015 Dead Celebrity List was topped by Michael Jackson as his estate raked in $115 million over the past year. "The prime drivers of his afterlife fortune: permanent Vegas Cirque du Soleil show Michael Jackson One, the Mijac Music catalogue, music sales and half of the Sony/ATV publishing empire," the magazine added.
"Charles Schulz and Bob Marley follow in line, with Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe taking seats five and six, respectively," Forbes added.
