In an interview with the Wall Street Journal Magazine, Angelina Jolie,40, and Brad Pitt,51, talked about their marriage, family life and parenthood, while promoting their new upcoming movie "By the Sea."
The Wall Street Journal Magazine has chosen Angelina Jolie as this year's entertainment-film innovator. The couple have six kids: Maddox,14, Pax,11, Zahara,10 ,Shiloh, 9 and 7-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. Angelina said that she and Brad make breakfast for their children, look after their studies and also manage home on nights and weekends. Brad Pitt said that Angelina plans outings for their children whenever she has a day off, even if she is tired.
Brad Pitt also talked about the preventative mastectomy and removal of ovaries operation surgery that Angelina underwent and how tough it was for her and her strength. He also said it impacted their family life."You have to understand that this is a woman who never knew she'd make it to 40, said Brad Pitt in a report by Wall Street Journal Magazine.
"This is a woman who had watched her mother, aunt and grandmother become sick and eventually succumb, all at an early age. Her drive, her absolute value in herself, is defined by the impact she can have during her time here: for her kids and for the underprivileged and those suffering injustices."
Angelina also spoke about the heartbreaking experience of breast and ovarian cancer with her own mother. She said that as a child she was always worried about her mother due to her sickness. She made it clear that she doesnt want that happen to her children.
The "Tomb Raider" actress said that even if she is going through a rough patch of life, she makes sure that her children are aware that their mother is absolutely fine and never have to secretly worry or take care of her.
Angelina described her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who lost her own mother at a young age and whose acting ambitions were never realized, as "the greatest mother", from whom she learned a lot in her life. Her father, actor Jon Voight, famously left her mother when Angelina was still a toddler."
"By the Sea" stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is the story of a couple whose marriage is in deep crisis. Angelina wrote the script after her mother died in 2007.
"I didn't really know if I could make film and I didn't think I could write the film, so I wrote with a certain amount of freedom, I gave myself the task that it would be about grief and how different people react to and process it," said Jolie in an interview with Wall Street Journal Magazine, who is also the UN Ambassador for Refugees. The movie releases on November 13, 2015.
