Is Guns N' Roses working on a new album after Slash admitted that he patched things up with Axl Rose?
In a recent interview, the Velvet Revolver guitarist said that he rekindled his friendship with the explosive vocalist.
"It was probably way overdue, you know," he said. "But it's.... you know, it's very cool at this point. You know, let some of that, sort of, negative... dispel some of that negative stuff that was going on for so long."
But does this mean that fans can expect a new album from Guns N' Roses anytime soon?
"Oh, I couldn't answer that one, though...," he said.
Back in May, Slash did not close his doors on the possibility of Guns N' Roses releasing a new album.
During an interview with "CBS This Morning," as shared by Ultimate Classic Rock, he said, "I got to be careful what I say there. I mean, if everybody wanted to do it and do it for the right reasons, I think the fans would love it. I think it might be fun at some point to try and do that."
What could be the hurdles for Guns N' Roses to release a new album?
"That's a hard one. That just starts to get into a whole complex thing. ... It's really between the guys in the band."
"Never say never."
During that same interview, he said that the feud with Axl Rose lasted about two decades.
"We haven't really talked in a long time, but a lot of the tension that you were talking about has dissipated. We don't have all those issues anymore. It's not a lot of controversy. It's something that is more perpetuated by the media, more than anything," he said.
Guns N' Roses was one of the most successful rock bands of the 80s and 90s, releasing six albums that sold over 100 million copies worldwide on the strength of Axl Rose's vocals and Slash's riffs. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 and Axl Rose was a no-show.
