"Jack the Ripper," a gruesome murderer, killed many women in London, back in 1888 according to BBC. The killer was never traced and remains unidentified till date. But according to an English teacher, Richard Patterson, the mystery has finally unraveled, Daily Mail reported.
The theory developed by a school teacher is that the killer was Francis Thompson. Francis Thompson was a renowned writer, known more for his poems. His writings were very dark and Richard is able to conclusively build a strong theory to suggest that the killer would have definitely been Francis Thompson.
Richard mentioned that he was very thankful that people have finally started to take his theory seriously. Richard is also penning down a book on the very similar subject "Francis Thompson - a Ripper Suspect." The unidentified murderer was also know by various names like "the Whitechapel Murderer" and "Leather Apron."
The Dailymail also said, Francis Thompson was a drug addict. The writer got involved in a relationship with a prostitute. When the relation fell apart, it became a trigger point for the writer to turn himself into a serial killer. The killer is said to have killed many prostitutes. The famous five victims were known as Canonical five.
"Soon before and soon after the murders, he wrote about killing female prostitutes with knives," claims Richardson in a report by the Dailymail. He further adds an interesting angle to the theory that Francis always carried a dissecting knife with him and was trained in surgical procedure.
Richard is working on developing the theory since last two decades, but the theory has been able to gather steam only lately. The author has travelled to places in America and United Kingdom.
The author has managed to collect various poems and writings to establish his theory stronger. Some people known to be accused in the past for are Sir William Withey Gull, the royal physician, Queen Victoria's surgeon Sir John Williams and also cotton merchant James Maybrick.
