Nomad Wallet Charger: A Portable Smartphone Charger For $80; Initially For iPhone Charging Only

While an $80 price tag is quite expensive for a charger, the Nomad Wallet charger for iPhone is worth considering, said Phandroid.

The device is sleek and thin, just like any other wallet while having a 2,400mAh battery and a charging cable to charge a smartphone.

These days, most people would not leave home without their keys, wallet and phone. Nomad is making use of one of those items to charge the other. It recently announced a new portable charger in Wallet for iPhone form which looks like a bifold wallet but has a battery concealed inside, said Slash Gear.

According to the company website, Nomad designs the classic wallet with a mission to make convenient and minimalist products integrated into everyday lifestyle.

The wallet is as thin as any ordinary wallet, and is made of genuine leather. It can be slipped into a pocket and hooked up to the phone for seamless charging. While anyone can get less than $80 portable higher-capacity battery packs from Amazon, they might not fit inside the wallet. Most of all, the Nomad wallet charger gives convenience, and that is why it is $80.

An initial downside is that the Nomad wallet charger for now, supports iPhone only. In the works is a model with a microUSB cable, and is not available for preorder yet.

Measuring 4.7 x 3.5 x .75 in inches when closed, the Nomad wallet charger could function as a wallet. It has a compartment for cash and six spaces for cards.

The battery is stored in the wallet's folding spine, which connects to an iPhone through a three-inch certified Lightning cable tucked away when not in use. According to Nomad, the battery should be enough to fully re-charge an older iPhone. The Nomad wallet charger can nearly fully charge an iPhone 6 and 6s.

The Nomad wallet charger for iPhone is for preorder on the Nomad website. The early price is $79 but it will be $99 by Nov. 15. The first orders will begin shipping the next day.
