If there's anybody who's not too keen on talking about Tool's new album, it's the Puscifer vocalist Maynard James Keenan.
Speaking to Phoenix New Times, Maynard James Keen was still silent about when the Tool's new album will come out.
"There's nothing to say," he said. "I can't."
What the vocalist said, however, was that the fanbase shouldn't be too serious about the whole issue. They should take hint of the fact that Tool and Puscifer are named after the male and female reproductive organs.
"It's weird. It shouldn't be," Keenan said. "I mean, this one's named dick, this one's named vagina. That's the start there, okay?"
He said that the first album by Tool, "10,000 Days," was replete with humor that was totally lost on the fans and critics alike.
"Yeah, it's there but people miss it because they're so focused on the other bullshit," he said. "It's lost. Insufferable people . . . It's just ridiculous, retards. I'm sorry. Can't help them. Way too serious. Too much. Lighten up."
Previously, Rolling Stone caught up with the Puscifer vocalist for any update about Tool's latest album.
"They're working hard in their own way," he said. "I'm working hard in my own way, and I've got nothin' for ya."
Tool has been embroiled in a lawsuit filed by their insurers. The issue lasted eight years until a judge forced a trial that ultimately led to a settlement in favor of the band.
Adam Jones, the guitarist for the band, said that Tool is working on its new album and already completed one track, in the hope of releasing the follow up to "10,000 Days" back in 2006 by the end of the year.
He said that Tool's new album will contain 10 more songs which he told the Rolling Stone are in "various states of completion."
