Jessica Alba's lawyers have appealed to the court to throw away the $5-million lawsuit filed by Jonathan Rubin against The Honest Company for reportedly making fraudulent claims on its products.

"The company is asking that the entire lawsuit be thrown out and points out that the man didn't even buy some of the products he is complaining about not being natural, specifically the brand's diapers and their multi-surface cleaner," Daily Mail said.

Rubin, in his lawsuit, claimed that The Honest Company has been advertising that its products are all organic and natural, when they are anything but.

The article reported, "He said that the brand's dish soap, hand soaps, diapers and multi-surface cleaner all contained synthetic preservatives, which made them not 'natural' - despite the advertising done by Alba's business.

"The man provided studies from an environmental group that claimed the ingredients in Alba's products were actually potentially hazardous to those who used them," it added.

But the lawyers for Jessica Alba said that the basis for Jonathan Rubin's lawsuit was incorrect because he just grouped all the products together when they have varying ingredients. In effect, he was just "cherry-picking" on some ingredients that crying about them being inorganic.

TMZ first reported of the $5 million lawsuit as it also published photos of the complainant's kids who allegedly got sunburned while using Jessica Alba's sunscreen product.

"According to the suit, in March the company changed the formula and removed more than half of the zinc oxide, the chemical that provides protection from the sun. Problem is, the company continued to market the product as SPF 30, and the suit claims lots of people, including kids, got burned," it said.

When Jonathan Rubin filed the lawsuit against The Honest Company, Jessica Alba issued a statement to CNN Money which read, "The allegations against us are baseless and without merit. We strongly stand behind our products and the responsibility we have to our consumers."
