"She Was Pretty" concluded with happy endings for all of its main characters, but the series did not surpass its goal of 20 percent ratings. According to Nielsen Korea, the finale of "She Was Pretty" recorded 15.9 percent. This was a 1 percent decrease from viewership for its penultimate episode, which aired on November 5.
Hwang Jung Eum met with reporters on November 12, to share her feelings about the conclusion of the beloved show.
"She Was Pretty' was so well received, so I am thankful and happy," said Hwang, in a report published by the Korean outlet, Chosun.
She went on to discuss the grueling schedule she adhered to for the drama, which premiered in the single digits before quickly increasing its ratings.
"Over the past two months, I have not slept more than a few hours per day," said Hwang. "Almost to the degree of insanity."
The 16th episode of the MBC romantic comedy opened with Kim Hye Jin (Hwang Jung Eum) as she attempted to maintain a long-distance relationship with her childhood friend-turned-boyfriend, Ji Sung Joon (Park Seo Joon).
Hye Jin was dismayed when Sung Joon did not immediately return her phone calls, but was elated to discover that he had relocated to Korea. Sung Joon assumed the responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief, as Kim Ra Ra (Hwang Seok Jeong) stepped down from her post to get married to a younger male model.
Wedding bells and proposals dominated the episode, which was punctuated by the nuptials of Hye Jin and Sung Joon.
Kim Shin Hyuk (Super Junior's Choi Siwon) received little airtime in the finale, but the episode was chock full of flashbacks, as he reflected on his cheerful moments spent with Hye Jin, whom he had affectionately named Jackson.
Shin Hyuk returned to Korea, towards the conclusion of episode 16, after spending time abroad, in an attempt to escape people who seeking the elusive author, Ten.
Min Ha Ri (Go Joon Hee) also received a promising conclusion, after earning a new hotel position, on her own merits.
KBS' "The Merchant: Gaekju 2015" continues to climb in ratings, recording 11.3 percent, while "The Village Achiara's Secret" received 7.4 percent, in nationwide viewership.
