Bishop's marital woes with Jake might take a toll on her in episode 9 of "NCIS" season 13 spoilers as a petty officer submitted himself to a court martial to clear his name.

Showrunner Gary Glasberg previously told TV Fanatic that this season will give focus on Bishop and Jake's marriage.

Glasberg continued, "She has a tremendous arc coming up where her marriage continues to be tested and challenged in ways as her husband remains with the NSA and she's with NCIS so that's going to take a huge toll on her and will manifest itself in a bunch of ways that will be significant all the way through the holidays and beyond."

The synopsis for "NCIS" season 13, episode 9 dished spoilers. "A petty officer tries to clear his name after his murder case is dismissed due to mishandled evidence. He volunteers to be court-martialed if NCIS agrees to investigate."

Cartermatt said that Bishop will be leaving town for a while to visit her mother, played by Lindsay Wagner, in Oklahoma. Agent Gibbs will also accompany her for the trip, which would also be good for Gibbs who is still recuperating from the trauma of the shooting in last season's finale.

"There's no word as of yet as to if Jake will accompany her, which does not say great things for the state of their relationship. Ultimately, we're just going to have to see how this story unwinds," it said.

Fox News said that in episode 9 of "NCIS" season 13, "Things with Ellie and Jake come to a head, even as the NCIS team has to solve a 'twisty, turny legal mystery.'"

"Sally Richardson-Whitfield returns as attorney Carrie Clark to work with them. The events of this episode set up Bishop's trip home in the Thanksgiving episode," it said.

Watch out for more "NCIS" season 13 spoilers ahead of the airing for episode 9 on Tuesday at 8 p.m. on CBS.
