Tech issues have reportedly delayed the release date for "No Man's Sky" up to June 2016.
The delay is the second for Sony after "Unchartered 4" was also pushed back.
Apart from having to avoid going head to head with "Fallout 4," Movie Pilot said the delay in the announcement is understandable because Hello Games is a small team and the game requires a lot of details and man-hours of work.
"After all, they have to ensure that an entire universe functions and doesn't throw some terrifying sights at us when we get the chance to explore it," it said.
"Therefore, the most logical explanation for the delay of No Man's Sky, is that the team require more time to ensure it's a functioning product on release date."
But it seems that the developer will stick to the June 2016 release date for "No Man's Sky" as Amazon already announced pre-orders for the game.
"Amazon has today launched pre-orders for the PS4 exclusive with a release date of June 30. Most interestingly, the game - sold as a digital code - is priced at $59.99," reported Hardcore Gamer.
"Given its indie origins, many have expected the game to be a $15-30 digital download, so if it indeed carries a standard full-price MSRP and this isn't a placeholder, it would be a surprise."
To date, the only confirmation on the June 2016 "No Man's Sky" release date is this tweet from Sean Murray where he wrote, "NO MAN'S SKY! JUNE 2016! LET'S DO IT TEAM!"
Sean Murray also announced at the Paris Games about the release date.
"Since E3 our release date has now become clear. The game, our ambition and some key developments have fallen into place. It's incredibly hard work, but development is going really well," he said.
"For all of us, we get one shot to make this game and we can't mess it up. Our small team knows the world is watching, we've come from the bottom and we don't take it lightly."
