Amber Heard told Marie Claire in the cover interview that her good looks can be a stumbling block to getting meatier roles. But Johnny Depp's former partner, Vanessa Paradis, allegedly disagrees.
"I wish I didn't have to pick between being seen as sexually viable and something more substantial," she said.
That only served as a motivation for the "Danish Wife" actress to work extra harder.
Johnny Depp's wife added, "You respect what it takes to earn [money], and it also gives you a certain resilience, because it minimizes this false notion that that's what matters. I know that to not be true, and I know I'm fine without it. That's why maybe I'm so independent. I never expect anyone to give me anything -- the notion of someone supporting me would be absurd to me."
But Celebrity Dirty Laundry claimed that Johnny Depp's ex Vanessa Paradis would scoff at that assessment.
"It's a sure bet that Vanessa Paradis disagrees with Amber Heard about being too sexy to land the good roles," the article said. "It's more likely the French film star sees Amber as an air-headed man-stealer. Johnny Depp's ex has what it takes to win awards and she is still sexier than Amber Heard ever will be."
However, there's one thing that Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp's wife Amber Heard have in common: their love for the two kids.
"[It's] an honor and the greatest, most surprising gift I have ever received in my life," Amber Heard said of being a stepmom to Johnny Depp's kids with Vanessa Paradis. "I feel new flavors that I didn't know existed. New colors that I didn't know existed have been added to my life. I'm so happy."
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard got married in February amid rumors that Vanessa Paradis was against the wedding until the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor sign a prenup to protect his $300 million fortune.
