Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed recently came up with an animal rights campaign which was said to be a cover-up on the divorce rumors that have been circulating about relationship. But a repot revealed that the couple did not use this to avoid the talks.

According a report from Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are fighting the divorce rumors through their latest promotional video for an animal rights' campaign.

The couple, who has been married since April, tied up with the "The Human Society of United States" for the promotion.

But rumors were quick to spread that this was to cover the divorce rumors surrounding their relationship.

It has been reported that Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed have been constantly arguing about "The Anomaly" actor's desire to start a family and raise kids.

But the 27-year-old "Twilight" star was reportedly not yet ready to be a mother, and instead Nikki Reed focused on her booming career as she started filming "Sleepy Hollow."

It also did not help that Nikki Reed was instructed to wear daring and sexy clothes for her character, which Ian Somerhalder allegedly strongly rejects.

A Realty Today report said that this has also been the conflict between Ian Somerhalder and his ex-girlfriend Nina Dobrev when they were still together

The Bulgarian-Canadian star was said to have rejected his marriage proposal as she wanted to focus on her movie career.

But a report from Gossip Cop debunked the report from CDL saying that Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed truly support animals' rights and that they are not using this to avoid divorce rumors.

"They're not pretending to support a cause as a means of showing the public that they have a strong marriage. CDL's claim is just a shameless attempt to undermine the couple's good deed Somerhalder and Reed are passionate about animal rights, and have been for years," the report read.
