There are speculations that Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey may be involved in a quiet but age-old competition against each other.
And now, is Mariah Carey trying to outshine Jennifer Lopez as the best singer-actress of their age bracket?
Mariah Carey is reportedly directing and starring in a Hallmark Christmas movie titled "Christmas Melody."
"Mariah knows the haters will make fun of it, but she doesn't care," a source reportedly told Naughty Gossip. "This was her opportunity to star and direct a film and she couldn't be happier with how it all turned out. She loves Christmas and thinks this will become a holiday classic."
Is Mariah Carey, 45, trying to copy Jennifer Lopez, 46, who has starred in various movies including "Selena," "Maid In Manhattan," and "The Boy Next Door"?
Are Mariah and Jennifer having a subtle but much talked about war against each other, much like two big stars of a younger age bracket, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry?
There is no doubt that age is just a number for both Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez when it comes to showing fans what they've got.
Both seasoned in the industry, JLo and Mariah may have earned the respect of many as mature music artists who doesn't need to go on Twitter fights with other singers to attract attention and gain prominence.
But do music artists really get past the stage where they have to fight for their places on the spot light?
A new rumor claimed that there might allegedly be bad blood between Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey. Are they competing on who gets to be the best music artist in their age category?
"We're hearing Lopez's manager, Benny Medina, who repped Carey from 2003 to 2008, wanted back in on the singer's career, but Lopez wouldn't allow it," Page Six reported. "A source told us there's a "No Mariah" clause in Lopez's contract with Medina."
"Lopez has been with Medina since 2008. The powerhouse manager helped revive her career with a judging gig on 'American Idol,'" the report continued.
Despite the rumors, Medina's camp promptly set the record straight about the alleged contract issue.
"Benny is not restricted, contractually or otherwise, from managing Mariah Carey or any other artists," a Medina Co. executive reportedly told Page Six.
