There have been speculations that James Maynard Keenan is at odds with the other Tool members, and that will impact on the new album of the band.
But in an interview with Rolling Stone, guitarist Adam Jones has revealed that James Maynard Keenan is very much involved in Tool's new album.
"Things are really flowing and going really well, and I'm just blown away at the stuff that's coming together," he said. "I'm excited and can't wait for it to be done."
He continued, "It's something I've been missing for a long time [laughs], that beautiful collaboration that we have because we're all so different and have different tastes. But again, when you are all meeting in the middle and that thing you do that meets in the middle is just beautiful, it's very rewarding. So yes, I'm very happy."
Tool has been embroiled in a lawsuit filed by their insurers. The issue lasted eight years until a judge forced a trial that ultimately led to a settlement in favor of the band.
Adam Jones also said that they have been collaborating with James Maynard Keenan, who's also busy touring and recording with his new band, Puscifer.
The guitarist said they already have around 20 songs on the table, which have all been shared with the Tool frontman through online correspondence. In fact, James Maynard Keenan even contributed to some of the lyrics for the new album, "but until the song's done and he knows how the end is, he's still figuring out the flow."
Speaking to Phoenix New Times, Maynard James Keen was still silent about when the Tool's new album will come out.
"There's nothing to say," he said. "I can't."
In another interview with Rolling Stone the Puscifer vocalist declined to give any update about Tool's latest album.
"They're working hard in their own way," he said. "I'm working hard in my own way, and I've got nothin' for ya."
