Oprah Winfrey has signed with Flatiron Books for her memoir which is slated to be out in 2017.
Oprah Winfrey's memoir that has long been put on hold by the star is finally making its way with Flatiron Books, a division of Macmillan. Flatiron Books announced on Thursday that Winfrey's memoir named "The Life You Want" would be published in January, 2017, according to Entertainment Weekly.
"All of my experiences, even the painful ones, have been there to teach me something about life," Winfrey said in a release. "I'm still learning and I hope my story inspires other people to live the highest, fullest expression of themselves," she added.
Meanwhile, reports have it that Winfrey's memoir auction hit whooping eight figures. "The Life You Want" is Winfrey's first book among the untitled imprints and the company would reportedly publish many non-fiction titles personally chosen by Winfrey herself, every year.
"We're deeply honored to publish The Life You Want, which is such a remarkable combination of Oprah's life story and the lessons we can all draw from it for our personal growth," says Bob Miller, president and publisher of Flatiron Books.
Meanwhile Oprah Winfrey who is currently on a tour in Australia opened up about her tragic past and the pain she endured as a child. Winfrey who revealed that she was raped many times a child, added that she recently named her baby boy who was born prematurely when she was 14-years-old.
The 61-year-old star told the 15,000 audience at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne that she decided to name the boy after she was told by one of the reporters to give a name to her son who died soon after birth. "I did have a son. And I named him Canaan because Canaan means new land, new life," said Winfrey about her son whom she gave birth and lost as a teenager, reported People.
