Since it exploded on screen in 2010, the franchise has released another installment every couple of years, but the release date of "Expendables 4" movie might be delayed because of casting changes.
Meanwhile, wrestling superstars Hulk Hogan and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson might join Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger when the film drops in 2017.
According to Variety, the "Expendables 4" movie already secured a China pre-sale date and the cast will start production next year.
"Neither director nor cast have yet been announced, though the picture is expected to have maintain its all-action star formula. It is to be produced on a budget of over $100 million," it said.
"The 'Expendables' franchise films have proved some of the most successful independent pictures in the Chinese market. "Expendables 3" grossed $39.2 million in North America where it was handled by Lions Gate Films, but $78 million in China," it added.
Meanwhile, Hulk Hogan has confirmed that he's going to join the "Expendables 4" cast.
"Was talking on the phone with Sly [Stallone] about doing The Expendables 4. We're trying to figure out a way to maybe turn me into the most evil man in the world," he said.
"Y'know, Stallone gave me my first break and he's been a great friend. We had a great conversation, talking about the possibilities. Can I still run, can I still jump? Well, not as fast or not as high, but I think Hollywood could find a good stunt man to help me out."
For his part, Dwayne Johnson said during Reddit AMA that he would very much willing to join "The Expendables 4" cast, but his schedule might cause some delay in the release date.
"If you're asking if I would consider being in the EXPENDABLES franchise - then the answer is yes. BUT.. I don't want to be on their team and be buddies with them. F*ck that noise. I want to hunt every single one of them down and tell them to 'send your soul to heaven cause your ass is mine.'"
