During the production release of tvN's new Monday/Tuesday drama "Basketball" held on October 14th at Imperial Palace in Nonhyundong, Seoul, Jung Dong Hyun said, "Actually I heard that Director Kwak Jung Hwan would be filming a basketball drama so I said during the meeting that I was really good at basketball. That's how I got to be in the drama."
Jung Dong Hyun plays the role of Min Chi Ho who is the best basketball player of his time with amazing skills and great looks. There is a love triangle between him and Kang San (played by Do Ji Han) over Choi Shin Young (Lee Eliyah) and later the two become basketball rivals.
Jung Dong Hyun drew laughter when he said, "There's something I want to tell you all. Actually, people who know me leave me out when they play basketball. That's how horrible I am. I just really wanted to be in the drama and that's why I lied."
Meanwhile, "Basketball" features young people who meet by fate during a time when the nation was going through tumultuous times.
This series features the love and conflict of young people who look to basketball as their torch during the tumultuous times of the Japanese occupation and liberation into post-Korean War years, as the series also captures the spirit of cooperation and emotional victories.
The series draws on the passion of the youth who lived in Chosun in the 1940s, as it uses as a motif the National Basketball team that went to the 1948 Olympics under the name of "KOREA" before the Korean peninsula was divided into the North and South. This was the first and last time that this name was used.
"Basketball" will air on October 21st for the first time and air every Monday and Tuesday at 10 PM.
