The ongoing controversy surrounding actors Kim Soo Hyun and the late Kim Sae Ron continues to escalate as new allegations and testimonies shed light on their personal lives and relationships.

On March 10, a woman identifying herself as a close family friend of Kim Sae Ron accused actor Kim Soo Hyun of being partly responsible for Kim's death.
The two were allegedly in a romantic relationship for six years, beginning when Kim was 15 years old. Since the exposé, multiple individuals have come forward with claims of abusive relationships, secret marriages, and infidelity involving both actors.

Secret Marriage and Abuse Allegations
Entertainment reporter Lee Jin Ho revealed on March 19 that Kim Sae Ron had been secretly married after her breakup with Kim Soo Hyun.
Lee pointed to a now-deleted Instagram post from January, captioned "Marry," featuring a mystery man who was later identified as her ex-husband—a non-celebrity businessman residing in the United States.
Lee released audio recordings allegedly of Kim Sae Ron, in which she described being coerced into marriage and pressured into having an abortion.

"He kept subtly threatening me about it," the woman in the recording says. "He's kinda insane."
In another recording, a woman identified as Kim Sae Ron's best friend claimed that the abuse Kim endured in the marriage—including threats and physical violence—ultimately led to her death.
The family has since stated that they were unaware of the marriage and abortion.
On March 25, the ex-husband publicly responded through the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute, stating that he and Kim legally married on Jan. 12, 2025, after a brief relationship that began in late 2024.

He denied the allegations of abuse and coercion.

"We got married too quickly without serious consideration," he said. "Our divorce was due to practical problems of a long-distance relationship and differences in personalities."
He also denied that Kim had ever been pregnant with his child.

Ex-Boyfriend "K" Speaks Out
Following the reports about the ex-husband, another man claiming to be Kim Sae Ron's former boyfriend, identified only as "K," gave an interview to THE FACT.
The outlet later revealed his identity as Lee Chan Hee, a former contestant on the idol audition show Fan Pick.

K disputed the claim that Kim Soo Hyun was responsible for Kim's death, instead blaming her ex-husband and family.
According to K, Kim found solace in him during her marriage.
"She would talk to me about what was happening," K said.
He claimed that her husband tried to isolate her by confiscating her phone and monitoring her communications, which led her to self-harm.
He also alleged that he received threatening messages from the husband.
Kwon Young Chan, head of the Korea Celebrity Suicide Prevention Association, refuted K's narrative on behalf of the family.
"They only dated for a month," Kwon said. "Would someone really confide such deeply personal issues to someone they were with for such a short time? He says, 'It wasn't because of Kim Soo Hyun' while simultaneously blaming her family—it doesn't add up."
A friend of Kim Sae Ron, identified as "Friend A," also questioned K's motives and suggested possible coercion.
"I don't think he's a bad guy," Friend A said. "He's a quiet, introverted person... But seeing how he turned and wrote the statement and all... I have to suspect that either Kim Soo Hyun or Kwak Tae Yong threatened him and got to him. Like, I have reason to believe so."
Alleged Infidelity and "Concubines"
Another friend, "Friend B," claimed that Kim Soo Hyun repeatedly cheated on Kim Sae Ron while she was still a minor.
He said Kim tolerated the behavior because Kim Soo Hyun had promised to marry her.
"She said it was such a struggle keeping her place for six years," Friend B stated. "As the queen, per se... because he kept bringing in concubines."

The Korean news outlet Vegan News later reported that two of these alleged "concubines" were members of top-tier girl groups, though their names were not disclosed.
One idol had previously been linked to Kim Soo Hyun in dating rumors.
Kim Soo Hyun has not responded publicly to the claims as of publication.
