With "The Vampire Diaries" in danger of being cancelled after being moved to Friday nights, Ian Somerhalder is reportedly using Nina Dobrev to bump up the ratings, and the "Let's Be Cops" actress is allegedly furious.

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Ian Somerhalder has been hinting about the possible return of Elena in his interviews even if Nina Dobrev has always insisted that she's not coming back to "The Vampire Diaries."

"Those hints were just bait to try and keep viewers tuned in and Nina is furious Ian used her to create buzz for the failing show," it said.

CDL added, "Dobrev was furious Ian and the rest of her former cast mates would use her to try and keep an interest in the show. Nina made it very clear - repeatedly - that she would not return to TVD under any circumstance...even cancellation."

Zap2it added that there are other indications that "The Vampire Diaries" would get the axe and foremost being that it's losing the rating games after Nina Dobrev's exit.

"After Nina Dobrev's departure, many fans had stopped watching, arguing that they don't care to see Damon or Stefan with anyone else," it said. "Even if Stefan has now been paired with Caroline, there are still some hardcore Stelena shippers who were holding out hope that the show's original couple would once again get together."

A report from Melty claimed that the new timeslot doesn't bode well for "The Vampire Diaries" after it was transferred to Friday nights.

"Beginning January 29 the vampires that we've come to know and love are skating on thin ice as the series' future seasons hang in the ratings balance," it said. "Following TVD leading lady Nina Dobrev's departure from the show last season, the series has got a major reboot with a fresh new look and feel."

CDL alleged that Ian Somerhalder "might be going into panic mode" as the ratings for "The Vampire Diaries" is plummeting without Nina Dobrev.
