Actress Jo Yoon Hee has confirmed her participation in the upcoming police drama "Pied Piper."
On December 21, King Kong Entertainment confirmed that the actress will appear in the tvN drama with Shin Ha Kyun and Yoo Joon Sang.
Jo Yoon Hee will play a police officer in a crisis negotiation team. Her character, Lt. Yeo Myung Ha, knows how to size up people and guess how they might react. That's a useful skill in conflict situations such as hostage negotiations and suicides.
Jo was last seen in the dramas "The King's Face" and "Nine: Nine Time Travels," and did a cameo in "The Producers." She appeared in the 2014 film "The Con Artists" and has a role in "The Joseon Magician," starring Yoo Seung Ho and Go Ara.
Shin Ha Kyun, last seen in "Mr, Baek," "Big Match" and "The Age Of Innocence," plays a skilled negotiator and leader of the conflict resolution team. He's rational and objective, which is also helpful in a crisis situation.
Jo Seung Woo was originally offered the role but ultimately declined.
Yoo Joon Sang, who played the tyrannical family patriarch in "Heard It Through The Grapevine," will be a news anchor in "Pied Piper." It's not known whether his character will help the crisis negotiation team resolve conflicts or further complicate situations.
Director Kim Hong Sun, and writer Ryu Yong Jae, who collaborated on "Liar Game" will also team up for this drama. Kim Hong Sun also worked on "Hero," while Ryu Yong Jae was a writer on "Time Between Wolf and Dog."
"Pied Piper" is scheduled to follow "Cheese In The Trap" in March.
