Rookie girl group Lovelyz will promote an anti-smoking campaign for soldiers.
Being appointed as promotional ambassadors for the campaign by the Defense Ministry on Monday, the girls will pose for a calendar for next year distributed to military barracks and appear on a couple of shows to raise awareness of the dangers of smoking.
They will also plan to perform at a show for soldiers at the end of this year.
The campaign aims to reduce the smoking rate among soldiers.
According to a survey conducted by the Korea Association of Health Promotion last year, some 40.4 percent of soldiers smoke, higher than the 34.8 percent of civilian men in their 20s.
