"Empress Qi" unveiled itself. Amidst worries and expectation, "Empress Qi" had fancy scenes that you had to pay attention to with a large scale, fast plot, and passion from the actors as it showed a black-hole like attention drawing skills.
On the first episode of MBC Monday/Tuesday drama "Empress Qi" (Script Jang Young Chul Jung Gyun Soon, Script Han Hee Lee Sung Joon) broadcast on October 28th, fancy and large scale scenes were shown with the Won Dynasty as the background. Wang Wu (played by Ju Jin Mo) and Ta Wan (played by Ji Chang Wook) go against each other. Later Qi Seung Nyang wears a red ceremonial robe showing that she had become the Empress of the Won dynasty.
Seung Nyang was getting congratulated by people but started to cry looking at the back of Wang Yu. Afterwards, the childhood scenes of the actors were shown. Seung Nyang was heading to the Won Dynasty with the other court maids when she attempted to escape and lost her mother. To seek revenge, she became the servant to Wang Ko (played by Lee Jae Yong) and led her clan to find the court maid.
Afterwards, to find a salt smuggler, Wang Yu challenges the Seung Nyang clan to a duel and the two start a relationship. The two start to drink and start an arrow challenge. This started a fun yet nerve wrecking fun. Wang Yu would bicker with Seung Nyang but the two would get attached as viewers would look forward to the plot. The duel between King Shim Yang and the Crown Prince over the salt smuggling while being aware of the Won Dynasty's reactions was also fun to watch.
From the first episode, this drama captured the fancy sides of Empress Qi and also showed the pain behind being sent into the Won Dynasty as a court maid and slave.
"Empress Qi" was filmed in China's Huang Dian set through which it would picture the ceremonial coronation and thus was able to portray a stunning scene. In addition, the red ceremonial robe worn by Ha Ji Won and the emperor robe by Ji Chang Wook were regal and authoritative attracting the attention of others.
Actors Ha Ji Won, Ju Jin Mo, Ji Chang Wook, Baek Jin Hee, Kim Suh Hyung, Lee Moon Shik, Kim Young Ho, Jung Woong In, Kim Jung Hyun, Jin Yi Han and Yoon Ah Jung lived up to their reputation with their acting and established their characters on screen.
Despite criticisms of playing with history, "Empress Qi" shows a fun storyline that wasn't available before and even from the first episode, it became a drama that would capture the actors' passion.
Meanwhile, "Empress Qi" is about the love and struggles of a Koreo dynasty woman who ends up governing the great kingdom. It is a 50 episode drama and features Ha Ji Won, Ju Jin Mo, Paek Jin Hee and Kim Suh Young. Writers Jang Young Chul and Jung Kyung Soon who have showcased their talent through "Dae Jo Young" "Giant" and "Salary Man Cho Han Ji" are collaborating with Producer Han Hee who produced "Gae Baek" and "Doctor Jin."
