After a year of the cheating scandal that ended her marriage to Rupert Sanders, Liberty Ross finally opened up to Vanity Fair.

This cheating scandal also broke up the relationship of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, but it will not compare to how it affected Ross's relationship with Sanders as well as their family.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Ross finally revealed everything she went through. "I have no words to describe what we went through," she said "It was really the worst, really the worst."

Pattinson broke up with Stewart after four years of dating. Ross said she thought her marriage to Sanders was also over. At that time, they were married for almost 16 years. "I think, for me, something always has to completely die for there to be a rebirth," she said. "And, for me, I feel like I'm going through a rebirth."

She also revealed that Sanders approached her before the media showed his pictures with Stewart. They secured a public relations worker so that their family especially the children would be protected. Ross and the children also stayed away for a while. "I was able to be there completely secluded," Ross said.

When she was asked how she was able to survive the ordeal, she answered: "I just visualized [being] this sort of Masai warrior. I was just going to stand very still and very strong and just let it all roll past me. I tried to keep as far away from it as I could and to understand that this is my family and it's the most precious thing to me."

Sanders issued a statement of apology: "I love them with all my heart," he said in the statement. "I am praying that we can get through this together."

However, Ross has already made the decision to divorce Sanders saying she "didn't have any more to give."

Ross added that she has forgiven Sanders. "We were together for 16 years, and that in itself is really beautiful," she said. "And we've created two exceptional lives together."
