Most Hollywood breakups usually don't end well. But in the case of Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr, it looks like a diplomatic breakup.
Bloom opened up about his amicable separation from Miranda Kerr in an interview with Katie Couric that was set to air on Friday, November 1.
"We love each other. We're a family. We're going to be in each other's lives for the rest of our lives. There's no question that for the sake of our son and everything else, we're going to support one another and love each other as parents to Flynn," the actor said.
The couple has announced their separation in a statement. "In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months," the rep said in a statement. "After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation."
But they are determined to provide a loving home to their 2-year-old son. They even stepped out in New York City as a family on Saturday, Oct. 26, after their announcement.
"Life sometimes doesn't work out exactly as we plan or hope for," Bloom added. "But we're adults, I'm 36 and now she's 30. We're professionals. We love and care about each other. Most of all, we love our son."
